Editorial Team

Selection process of managing editorial committee:

  • Nominations (self-nomination inclusion) and motivation (record of publication and experience of reviewing; member of SAERA; field of scholarship)
  • Screened by MEC for appointment + two external members (SAERA)
  • Period of appointment: 5 years
  • Term: maximum of two terms
  • Number of members in the MEC: 8 to 10 depending upon need
  • Vacancy: considered within the 5 year period, using the same process for selection
  • Representation across institutions.

Advisory Board

Criteria for selection:

  • Active scholars in the field
  • Available to serve and review at least 2 articles per year for the journal
  • Diversity in terms of geography, institutional type and gender
  • Support and realise the aims of the journal
  • Be available for at least one meeting (virtual/in-person) a year
  • Evidence of experience in serving in editorial processes
  • Be part of a research network

Recruitment process:

  • Invite potential candidates
  • General call for nominations (including self-nominations)
  • Referral

Selection process:

Review of submissions by the EMC and at least one external member  of SAERA

Term of office:

  • 5 years
  • Maximum of 2 terms
  • Right to end the term prior to the five-year period is reserved
