Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Authors who publish in the DBSA: African Journal of Infrastructure Development (DAJID) agree to the following terms:
Authors retain copyright, grant the journal right of first publication with the work and allow others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal.
Submission of a manuscript to DAJID implies that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, or thesis); that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; and that if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author(s) still hold the copyright and retain publishing rights without restrictions. Authors or others are allowed to multiply the article as long as it is not for commercial purposes. Any use or copies of this journal in whole or in part, must include the customary bibliographic citation, including author attribution, date and article title.

The DBSA: Africa Journal of Infrastructure Development (hereinafter referred to as DAJID) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in its publishing activities.
